For students who have been conditioned to take in information through lectures, I offer specific guidelines to help them activate five verbs in their learning: Look, Analyze, Reflect, Support, and Create. Though the sample assignment demonstrates how I scaffold assignments to support close reading and writing in academically-focused courses, I apply similar fundamentals in studio courses.
